Fishing Methods

Want to know a little a bit about fishing methods? Then you come to the right place, Welcome to this piece of writing. Today I'm going to be talking about different kinds of fishing methods but no all of them (I don’t know everything).

Dredging. Dredging normally catches fish like Scallops, oysters (fish that normally hang out at the seafloor). Dredging uses a metal cage that is sinked to the bottom of the sea floor then dragged by a boat above to catch the fish. Dredging is a really good way to fish Scallops, oysters and many more, but because of the metal teeths it damages the sea floor destroying many sea creatures homes.

Traps and pots. This is a common fishing method, This method uses a cage or a net. Carbs and cod are normally trapped by the traps. This method can damage the seafloor and abandoned traps can entangle other animals.

Another method I’m going to inform you about is gillnetting, this method uses a net wall that is set quite deep (depends). Gillnetting commonly catches Sardines, salmon and cod. Gillnetting is another effective way to fish but it also has it’s cons, one of them but most common is it catches unwanted creatures like mammals but then again you can just add gear like fingers or setting the wall deeper.

Have you heard of trolling? I think you have, well there is a method called trolling this method uses a line. Trolling catch small fishes like tuna.

Gill Netting, trolling and Dredging are all ways to catch fish but they also all catch different fish. Some methods catch the same but every method is different it its own way. If your dad is a fisherman ask him what kind or kinds of fishing method does he use?

Story Starters- Dear Carl

Dear Carl

I have heard about your travels and battles. You seem to have a lot of talent but do you have what it takes to locate a secret vault, “yes, you heard me right”. Why am I asking you to do it? Well, it's because the fact is there have been rumours that you keep boasting about how strong you are in my inn. If you do this and bring me the vault in perfect condition I will tell all my people that you're a hero and I'll name you my thane. I will also allow you to buy any property in my kingdom. Okay let's get down to it. This vault is located in the Baj's house. Kill Baj and hide his body or give his head and I'll stick it on a pole in front of his house (he's a bad man, very bad), but that parts optional. If you want more information talk to my friend Marcus.

The problem is that Baj's men, might have a group ready for a fight in front of his property. Fight them and slowly make your way to the vault. If Baj asks for a fight slice his head off. If you want more information talk to my friend Marcus.

To open the vault you have to take the key from Baj (if you killed him), or pick the lockto  the vault. The big catch is I know what’s inside so you can't take anything from it before it comes to me. If you do I will put a bounty on your head ($1,000,000 for someone to bring me your head). Marcus can be found in my prison, guarding the prisoners.

Science Fair

Today, TPS celebrated our topic of ‘Discoveries’ with a Science Fair. All 10 classes Shared their discoveries that they had made from throughout the term. Two things I found really interesting to find out at the science fair were if you rub a balloon on your hair then put it on top of little pieces of paper the paper with automatically stick to the balloon for a short time. The second thing was knowing that the first chemist was a woman!!

What Made Philip Brainard a Good DISCOVERER?

How to be a Good Discover

We were all born curious, but some of us just don’t ask questions. This is the perfect time to start, so why don’t we? You can start by reading my explanation, then you can go out in the world and start asking questions.

To be a good discover you have to be brave.Being brave is important because if you keep thinking “Ohhh, my question is dumb!”  Then you're not brave, but if you're brave you won’t care what other people think. This means you will answer questions no matter if they’re good or dumb

Belive in yourself!  Believing in yourself might inspire yourself to keep on going and to keep trying to go to the next level. This means if someone finds stronger answers,do admit they have a stronger answer but keep on trying to get an even stronger answer.

A discover is creative. This means being different, try to think out of the box. Being creative is important because it can help you come up with different questions to answer.

If you follow these three points then you'll be a successful discover in the future. Being brave, believing in yourself and being creative these three thing can get you a long way. Being creative will help think of the question, believing yourself will inspire you to answer that question and being brave is like taking risk it will help you to not be scared.
